Football Offseason is Over - But what's better, Spring or Summer ball?

Coaches, the football offseason is coming to a close.  High school spring ball has started or is around the corner, and for other states (like the wonderful Illinois) have to play the waiting game until the summer.

Ohio just shot down a rule that would allow 2 weeks and 10 hours of spring football practice. So the question becomes, is it better to have spring football or summer football?

Quite frankly, I do think one thing is bullshit. Basketball has AAU, baseball has fall ball.  Heck, there's even indoor soccer leagues and national wrestling tournaments.  So why can't football organize offseason leagues?  I know there are some places where this has occurred for 7 on 7. There are legit reasons for this though.  Imagine if 40 members of a schools high school talent base did spring football leagues. All the other sports would be screwed. At my school, I estimate there is somewhere between 150-200 football players between freshmen and seniors.  If even 20% joined some type of summer league, that'd be roughly 40 athletes.

Preferably, I prefer summer football.  We get the athletes out and we can work them out before or after practice.  Also, it seems like more coaches have availability then, at least from my experience. What do you all think? Leave it in comments below.
